PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral

This is the Pantone Color of the Year 2019 – Living Coral. It’s a soft and happy hue with a golden undertone, which energizes everything around it. Even the name of it reminds us of the sacredness and fragility of our Planet – the Coral Reefs.

The worry of the dying of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, overall Global Warming and the resistance of humans to take responsibility in playing their part in the catastrophic events of the past years, which at one point will become irreversible.

“We get energy from nature,” a statement from Pantone reads. “Just as coral reefs are a source of sustenance and shelter to sea life, vibrant yet mellow Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.”

But back to Pantone, for 20 years, Pantone’s Color of the Year has been an influencer product design and development in multiple industries, including fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product, packaging and graphic design.

Below you can see an image of the matching colors to Living Coral, generated with Colormind tool, as well as a screenshot from Pintrest displaying images matching the color of the year. Looking forward to using this lively and beautiful color in both my art and design this year!
